We always said we wanted to see the entire coast of California and drive Highway 1 the whole way. We didn’t have immediate plans to do so, however, my husband had a 3 day CLE in San Diego and we decided we would start our vacation there and end in Napa. The coast of California did not disappoint.

First stop, Pendry, San Diego. The CLE was also in this hotel, so it made sense to stay here. 

Lion Fish

Hotel dining is a hit and miss but after looking at the menu, we decided to give it a shot. Not disappointed. 10/10 recommend.

San Diego Zoo

We visited the San Diego zoo upon arriving to San Diego. We got there earlier than expected and had plenty of time to see the whole thing. 

Petco Park

If there are sports anywhere around, my husbands is sure to find it. We saw the Padres were playing the Diamondbacks on the 20th at 7:10 p.m. We waited in line for some tickets and in we went. I don’t really care for sports but I’m good with seeing new places and trying the food, specifically local favorites.  

Sunset Beach

This was one of my favorite places around San Diego. While it drew a bit of people at sunset, it was well worth it. I wish I would have had a better camera out there than just our iPhones at the time. Still made for some great pictures.
